Picture book designed for young sufferers of depression. Released in June 2015 by Jessica Kingsley Publishing. Winner of the 2015 Indiefab Bronze Award in the Early Reader, Picture Book category.
The art is messy, because depression is messy. The colours, lines, shapes and even the media used to render the illustrations are inconsistent and change from page to page.
Carefully written to be relatable and understood by children of all genders and ages, and with an ambiguous but hopeful conclusion, the story is designed to educate children and parents alike, but ultimately to provide a positive message.
